Eduardo Minett is a Mexican actor and producer known for his work in film, television, and theatre. Born in Mexico in 2006, Minett began his professional career at a young age, developing an early interest in acting and the performing arts. His formative years included work in theatre and musical productions, as well as training in acting, singing, guitar, and other artistic disciplines. Minett began appearing professionally in Mexican television and film during childhood. Among his earliest screen credits were appearances in La rosa de Guadalupe and Como dice el dicho, where he gained experience working in the format of Mexican television’s long-running anthology productions. He also appeared in the short film Nochebuena and in Ernesto Martínez Bucio’s Las razones del mundo, a Mexican short film selected for the Cinéfondation section of the Cannes Film Festival in 2016. Minett continued working in Mexican television, appearing in productions including Papá a toda madre and La rosa de Guadalupe, before expanding his film career with The Legend of Tomiris and Matando Cabos 2, La Máscara del Máscara. His early work established him as a young performer capable of moving between television, theatre, and feature film. In 2020, Minett was cast as Rafo in Cry Macho, directed, produced, and starring Clint Eastwood. The film became his first major international feature and his Hollywood debut. He was selected for the role after competing with young actors from different nationalities. In the film, Minett plays a troubled Mexican teenager who becomes the center of Eastwood’s character’s journey across Mexico and toward the United States. Working alongside Eastwood became a significant formative experience for Minett. He spent approximately two months filming with the actor and director and has spoken publicly about observing Eastwood not only as a performer, but also as a director and producer. Minett has described Eastwood’s directing style as allowing considerable freedom to the actors, with relatively little rehearsal and an emphasis on spontaneity and natural performances. Following Cry Macho, Minett continued his work in Mexican cinema, appearing in Yibrán Asuad’s ¿Encontró lo que buscaba? (Have a Nice Day!), alongside Álvaro Guerrero and Andrea Chaparro. Released by Netflix in 2023, the film follows an aging former radio personality attempting to reconnect with the past, with Minett portraying Picho. Minett later appeared in the short film 5 Pasos (para una despedida), directed by Julio César Rubio and produced through the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, in which he portrays Pato. The film was included in Mexico’s national cinema information records and released in 2025. Through his work across television, theatre, short films, international productions, independent cinema, and film production, Eduardo Minett has developed a career that bridges Mexican and international filmmaking. From his early work in Mexican television and theatre to his international breakthrough opposite Clint Eastwood and his subsequent transition into producing, he continues to expand his work across different areas of the film and entertainment industry.
